C’est une année avant le 800ème anniversaire de Dresde, en 2006, que la Frauenkirche a ouverte ces portes au public et cela presque 60 ans après son anéantissement quasi total par le bombardement du 13 février 1945. Aujourd’hui, la Frauenkirche avec ses 91 mètres de hauteur est à nouveau une des plus belles églises évangéliques d’Allemagne.
